Flumph

The flumph 'flies' by sucking air into its mouth and expelling it through its underside. Normally it floats just above the ground but can fly up to 10' (usually for attack purposes).

Most religions consider flumphs to be holy and untouchable. Evil religions focus on their fiendish nature, while the good tend to view pacifistic fiends as a vast improvement to the general population. This usually leads to flumphs appearing in the strangest places, oftenly being left alone by its usual occupants. This would mean they'd make extremely good diplomats, if only they could be explained what the concept means. In fact, no-one has ever convinced a flumph to do anything, primarily due to the flumph's total inability to understand what the person trying means. Some sages theorize this is because of a total lack of ambition, thus leading to a very short long-term memory. Of course, not many sages actually touch the subject of flumphs, since most treatises on flumphs tend to disagree with each other.

Flumphs are usually found in groups of 2-16. If you find two flumphs that are more than 10 feet away from another, it probably means they're arguing with each other. This never takes longer than a few minutes though...
