The Books of the Apostles

  • First Book: Helios. The Book of Helios is an account of the last conversation between Saint Helios and the Messiah, which took place after the Messiah was mortally wounded by the Spear of Destiny. In it, the Messiah answers many of Helios' questions about the Aedonian Faith, and the book is regarded as the clearest and most complete explanation of the Messiah's teachings.
  • Second Book: Shelba. The Book of Shelba deals with the war between the apostolic armies and the sorcerers of Narghai. It describes many prayers and rituals dealing with the dead, most importantly Raise Dead and Turn Undead. It describes in some detail the sin of using necrotic forces, and the punishments a soul will have to endure in Hell for commiting this sin.
  • Third Book: Jedidiah. The Book of Jedidiah is a somewhat dry, scholarly work describing the different layers of Heaven and Hell, and the choirs of angels and bands of devils serving Aedon and Asmodeus.
  • Fourth Book: Balthamor. Also known as "the gathering of the apostles", the Book of Balthamor is an account of the younger years of the Messiah, his adventures with The Company of the Silent Dusk (his adventuring party), and the transformation of this group into the Apostles.
  • Fifth Book: Caladnei.
